How it works

Competitor list on Sunday, briefed landscape on Monday.

01Name the landscape

Your company as the baseline, then the competitors worth an answer. Set once, edited whenever the market moves.

02The desk sweeps

Pricing pages, changelogs, launches, funding, hiring and social are read across every name on the list, and each finding is filed with the artifact it came from.

03Read it before standup

Executive summary, a section per competitor, recommended responses. Delivered 07:00 UTC Monday and archived edition by edition.

Inside every edition

Three things you can take into the room.

Sourced, not vibes

Every line carries the pricing diff, changelog entry or filing behind it. Nothing in the edition is a hunch you have to defend on your own.

What it means for you

Each competitor section closes on the consequence for your position and the single response worth tabling this week.

A landscape memory

Watchtower editions accumulate into a record of who moved when. "When did they drop that price?" becomes a lookup instead of an argument.

Who runs Watchtower

Briefing competitive landscapes weekly since 2025.

I heard about a competitor's price cut from a customer who was already leaving — three weeks after it shipped. Watchtower is the fix: the same sweep every Monday, filed whether the week was loud or silent. The discipline is the product; the brief is just where it shows up.

FAQ

The three fair objections.

How do I know the findings are real and not guessed?

Every line in the edition cites the artifact it came from — the pricing page diff, the changelog entry, the press item or filing, the job post. Open the source and check it yourself; that verifiability is the format, not a feature bolted on.

What arrives on a week when nothing happened?

Watchtower still files the edition and says so plainly, with the watch-list of pending items it is tracking. A competitor going quiet for six weeks before a launch is itself a finding worth having on record.

Can I change who gets tracked, and how many?

Yes — the competitor list lives in your plan settings and applies from the next edition. Most customers track four to eight names alongside their own company as the baseline.
